Braco is situated on the northern shore of the Caribbean island of Jamaica near to Trelawney. It enjoys a secluded position yet is close to many different attractions. The island can be reached via its international airports in Montego Bay and Kingston followed by a short transfer to the resort. The resort is approximately one and half hours from Montego Bay Airport. Jamaica has a long established tradition of all inclusive resorts and Braco is no exception.
The island enjoys a very stable temperature all through the year ranging from 70of to 90of yet there are still high and low seasons for visiting with the low season consequently offering some very attractive discounts. High season tends to mirror the winter period in the northern hemisphere when travellers are looking to escape inclement weather. During busy periods not only are hotel rooms hard to come by but other travel facilities such as hire cars can be difficult to book too. The busy period does bring with it more activity and there are many carnivals and festivals that take place especially around Christmas and Easter time.
The low season although quieter can mean rainy periods and the hurricane season as well as reduced levels of service as hotels carry out repairs and generally cut back on staffing levels. Braco itself is a quiet self-contained resort but near enough to Ocho Rios to offer a pleasant day out shopping there. Not too far away are the famous Dunns River Falls which also make for an interesting day trip from the resort.
Braco is essentially an all inclusive resort owned by Superclubs Hotel trading as Grand Lico Braco. Although it is self-contained and offers a quiet spot there is a plethora of activities on offer which you can choose to take part in or not. The resort has around a 320m stretch of beachfront on to which many of its rooms open out and comprises a site of 34 hectares. It has been designed in the style of a Jamaican Victorian village including the courthouse which in this case is the site for many entertainment activities. The village atmosphere comes complete with gardens, a town square and local craft vendors.
This is not a family resort being very definitely adult only (a minimum age of 16 applies with customers usually being adult couples or singles). The adult only theme is largely due to its nudist beach facilities. It attracts a mix of clientele with not all of them looking for nude bathing. Some sections of the hotel and beach are reserved for nudists, however, guests must be dressed to use many of the resort's facilities. Guests who stay on the clothed side of the hotel can use the nudist facilities for an additional fee.
The resort offers a fantastic range of sporting activities including a 9-hole golf course, tennis and squash courts, kayaks, scuba diving, bikes, sail boats, windsurfing, water skiing and much more, yet for those looking to relax there are spa and sauna facilities as well as swimming pools and jacuzzis. In true all inclusive style there is very little that the holidaymaker would need to venture outside of the resort for.
