Hawksbill Holidays

On the north west coast of the island of Antigua you will find the four crescent shaped beaches that make up Hawksbill Bay. Highly regarded for their natural beauty, one is Antigua's only nudist beach.

The area is dominated by the Hawksbill Rex Resort, a lavish Caribbean hideaway set on thirty seven acres of land. Landscaped tropical gardens surround the resort and all four beaches at Hawksbill, including the one with the optional dress code are available for use of the guests. So if a holiday with a choice of beautiful beaches surrounded by wooded hills is what you are after then head north to Hawksbill.

The resort has a wide variety of accommodation on offer, from detached cottages set amongst the palms, many with sea views, to the colonial style great house on top of the hill, an ideal hire for large parties travelling together.

The hotel offers a wide variety of daytime activities either by the pool or on one of the stunning beaches. Windsurfing, sunfish sailing, snorkelling and pedalos are all free to the all inclusive guest, whilst water skiing and boat hire are available on the resort but carry an extra charge. There is an option to go deep sea fishing near the hotel and this can be arranged either locally or through the hotel.

There is also golf and even horse riding near the hotel all available to book locally, so there really is no shortage of options for those who want a change from lying in the Caribbean sun.

Hawksbill caters for families and the child age at the resort is two to sixteen years. There isn't a children's club but the hotel does provide a baby sitting service for the younger ones, so that parents can enjoy an evening meal by the beach.

In the evening the entertainment focuses around enjoying a relaxing meal and a drink or two in splendid surroundings. The hotel has four restaurants to choose from, the Tamarind Bar being the place to head to to catch the in house entertainment four nights a week. This is a friendly and informal place whilst the Vigento Sur Mare is an a la carte dining location, with in house specialities of lobster and pasta. There's a snack bar right on the beach that also serves drinks and a weekly barbecue on the beach itself. Guest are welcome to dine at any of the other Rex hotels on the island or travel to local restaurants. The hotel does adhere to a dress code in the evening, gentlemen being asked to wear collared shirts and long trousers in all bars and restaurants during the evening. More casual wear is accepted at other times and for the barbecue. The hotel is a non smoking premises and this applies throughout the entire complex.

Wherever you are in Hawksbill you are never far from the glittering sea and the choice of four beaches make this an ideal place for sun worshippers; add this to the hotel's dress codes and it makes for a very smart yet relaxing place to spend your holiday on Antigua.
