Playa Taurito Holidays

Just a few kilometers away from the popular resort town of Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria is Playa Taurito. Playa Taurito is also keeping good company with Puerto Mogan which is the next resort over. From the get go Playa Taurito would stun and enthrall you with its remarkable scenery. Here lovely and inviting beaches abound, there are dramatic cliffs wherever you go here as well and palm trees serve to block out the sun in some places. It is indeed relaxing to watch the palms sway in the breeze, one of the natural beauties here that you can’t help but appreciate.

Those who visit Playa Taurito usually include families and couples who are looking for a great place to relax as it is a very peaceful place to stay. Compared to the other resorts in Gran Canaria Playa Taurito is as laid back as it is void of an active nightlife. Fear not though since neighbouring Puerto Rico offers all night partying and late night entertainment opportunities that you can enjoy.

The Weather

Be among the many that come here for the gorgeous weather which constantly consists of brilliant blue skies and the warmth of the sun. The weather is perfect for your sightseeing adventures which are aplenty and are scattered all over Gran Canaria. Start your journey by taking a ferry ride to Puerto Rico and later to Puerto del Mogan, the latter a town that is known as “Little Venice” which features a Venetian styled canal. Over in Maspalomas you can either go golfing or take a camel ride tour of the sand dunes here which have been whipped into its creative formation by the winds.

Those who are looking for a hiking experience like no other would enjoy the climb up Mt. Tejeda which consists of many reservoirs, mountains and forests as well. One of the highest mountain peaks is also located in Gran Canaria in the form of the Caldera de Taburiente in La Palma. This mountain has a large volcanic crater which is the largest in the world. Gran Canaria is also a great place for admiring the flora and fauna of this majestic island. A visit to Playa del Ingles would expose you to the Palmitos Park where you can see a fair share of reptiles, fish and plants. On a daily basis one can also get an up-close view of the hawks, parrots and eagles as well.

Things to do in Playa Taurito

A holiday in Playa Taurito is one that you have been dreaming about all of your lives. With a healthy balance of beaches, sporting activities and close proximity to other world class resorts, Playa Taurito may just be that holiday spot that you would want to keep for yourself. It is a place that is peaceful enough for you to relax but this peace should never be interpreted as boredom. Not when you can spend countless hours on the beach soaking up every ray of sunshine that glows upon you.

The beaches here are great for scuba-diving and playing water polo, jet-skiing and windsurfing as well. Diving is also recommended here; the underwater world would delight you as you explore the reefs and wrecks that are underwater.

Most of the beaches are only a stone’s throw away from the hotels so it would be easy for you to make it back to your room to change clothes and head back out to begin enjoying all of what this resort has to offer.

Shopping

If you are looking for great bargains and a variety of items to purchase then you should journey over to Puerto Rico which is 3km away from Playa Taurito. A shopper’s haven, you would find several stores in Puerto Rico that have everything from jewellery to clothing, fragrances and more. And if you travel a bit further way to Arguineguin, you would be able to take advantage of their Tuesday evening market.

Every week you can visit this market and get some of the best bargains around. Items sold there and in all of Gran Canaria as a matter of fact are duty-free which means bigger savings for you. Still you are urged to haggle as much as possible since it is almost recommended in these parts. While staying in Playa Taurito you can also visit Puerto del Mogan, a resort that is brimming with lots of romance, a place that is appropriately referred as “Little Venice”.

It is in Puerto del Mogan that one can also get a view of the stunning harbour here as well as a Venetian-esque canal. Along the harbour are cosy and intimate restaurants and bars as well. Back in Playa Taurito you can enjoy a few sporting activities such as playing tennis, polo, squash and you can even try your hand at rifle shooting. And when it comes to evening entertainment and fun in Playa Taurito it is limited to only fraternising at the bars and restaurants there. The restaurants and bars are even more popular at the hotels where a great dining experience is always expected.

No matter where you choose to eat in Gran Canaria though, one thing that remains unabated is how tasty Canarian food really is. Sure there are quite a few international restaurants that are around, but nothing reall beats the fish restaurants that are here or sampling a plate of authentic Canarian food that is served with the signature mojo sauce.
