Playa Del Cura Holidays

When your holiday calls for a destination that is the ideal place to relax in quiet yet romantic surroundings then you should look no further than Playa del Cura. This Gran Canaria island can be found on the south western coast of the island and it is also not too far away from other resorts such as the upbeat Puerto Rico and Puerto del Mogan.

Playa del Cura is regularly visited by families and couples and there are many reasons why they are making repeated visits here. Beaches here are very common and they offer beauty and amenities that you are sure to appreciate.

There are black sandy beaches and elsewhere you can find beaches with golden imported sand, the later in the area of Amadores resort. Most of the beaches here are ideal for snorkeling which would take you on an interesting journey to the underwater world.

Since Playa del Cura is considered the getaway resort from the other hectic resorts that are around, you would have to explore other locations in Gran Canaria for your slice of adventure. Volcanoes abound in Gran Canaria and there are scheduled tours to the top where most have large craters that are worth seeing. And hikers would appreciate the walk up to Taburiente National Park in Los Cancajos. The park is home to the largest volcanic crater which draws several visitors each year.

Gran Canaria is the best place to experience the love of nature as there are many opportunities here for you to be up close and personal with a variety of plants and flowers, birds and fish.

Palmitos Park in Playa del Ingles for instance is the one place you can go to see various types of plants, fish and reptiles. There are several shows that you can catch up on at the Palmitos Park have displays of hawks, eagles and parrots.

A visit to Aqualand, a theme water park may be just what you need in this resort where the weather displays hot summers and winters. There are close to thirty slides at Aqualand which is a few paces away from Playa Del Cura and two of the more popular rides include the Tornado and Anaconda.

Most of all Aqualand is known for the place where children and adults can swim along with the sea lions. Maspalomas is another resort that is near to Playa del Cura and that resort offers the fascinating sand dunes which were blown into shape by the wind.

You could start off your holiday by visiting one of the many beaches here followed by an evening of shopping at one of the shopping centres here. At these shopping centres you will find a wide variety of souvenir and gift shops and if you don’t find something that you like then you can visit the other neighbouring resorts such as Puerto Rico and Amadores to name just two.

No matter where you decide to shop in all of Gran Canaria you would always enjoy duty-free prices. Shops here sell a variety of pottery to wooden items, jewelry and unique handmade items.

Golfers can get a chance to hone their skills on the sprawling 18-hole golf course near Maspalomas. Game fishing is big in Gran Canaria and it would definitely be an accomplishment if you were to catch a blue marlin which weighs several pounds.

For those travelling with children there is the Holiday World theme park that boasts of having several rides that they children would love. And if they may prefer going to a water theme park then expect them to giggle with glee at Aqualand, home to over 30 slides. Because of how laid-back Playa Del Cura is, so too is their night life.

Night life here consists of dining at the restaurants which offer a variety of Canarian and International cuisines. You will also find a few bars here where you can spend a few hours hanging out with your friends. But if you are considering a night-life that is filled with discos and late night bars then you would have to visit Puerto Rico which is not too far away.
