Macher Holidays

Just on the outskirt of the capital city of Arrecife and the Arrecife International airport is the small town of Macher. Macher is also in the Tias district and is one of those towns that you stumble upon perhaps en route to the more larger and popular resorts which are only a few minutes away.

For anyone thinking about visiting Macher you would find the town is a very quiet one that is unspoilt and still steep in traditional. Those who visit Macher are obviously looking for a holiday away from the madding crowd.

Macher attracts the more mature traveller; the younger crowd preferring the other resorts nearby. Fun and entertainment when you visit Macher really happens in the nearby towns such as Puerto Calero and Puerto del Carmen for instance. Puerto Calero is five minutes away from Macher and it offers a marina as well as restaurants and bars galore in a lavish setting.

You prepare your own meals at the apartment or villa if you so incline and as you get around in Macher you would see that there is a supermarket that is conveniently located which sells a variety of items that you can fill up your pantry with.

Roam a little if you will and get into the other resorts and towns where great attractions await you. Among them is the Canarian Cetacean Museum which is the only museum of its kind in all of Spain. Here the visitor is given the opportunity to get an extensive amount of information on the lives of dolphins and whales.

At the museum one can view many exhibits and pretty much get a feel of these two sea creatures in terms of their way they communicate and even their habits. Finally don’t miss a visit to the renowned Timanfaya National Park which is accessible either by a coach or camel ride up the winding path. This road would take you to what has been described as a volcanic field of sorts.
